STUDY
TOUR-T. Y. B. Sc. ZOOLOGY
The
much awaited Study Tour of T. Y.
B.Sc. Zoology was from the 8th
of Nov. to the 17th of
Nov. 2011. The place chosen was an
educational hub, Hyderabad, Andhra
Pradesh. The tour coordinator was
none other than Sister Maria Lizanne
A.C. With lot of excitement,
apprehension and good bye, 11+1
boarded the train in Margao at
7.45am on the 8th and
reached Kacheguda, Hyderabad at 6.00
am on the 9th. The
journey of about 10-12 hours was
full of fun and frolic; eating and
sleeping; playing and joking;
photographing and enjoying the
natural beauty and Yes! Talking and
chatting, sometimes meaningless just
to kill the time.
At the station we were
collected in a colourful minibus by
Mr. Fakruddin, our driver who was
arranged for the internal travel for
8 days and taken to the youth hostel
at Narayanguda which was really a
home away from home, an unexpected
surprise. It was a flat with an A/C
room, cable connected television,
refrigerator, bath-tub, comfortable
rooms, spacious cupboards, dressing
tables etc. Credit goes to our
coordinator for the wonderful
arrangement for our stay for 8 long
days.
Our coordinator made
sure that the tour was a complete
package of everything – visits to
educational institutes and
university; national and amusement
parks; museums, planetarium, fort
and zoo; shopping malls, ice-cream
parlour and McDonald; gardens and
boat-ride, movie-Rockstar and to top
it all a day at Ramoji Fim City. It
was an extremely tight schedule with
education, excitement and
entertainment, food and snacks of
all types to satiate all our taste
buds. We were even lucky enough to
watch the antique clock at its
chiming time – a rare and precious
opportunity.
Visit to Ramoji Film
City was like a dream come true.
Thanks to our coordinator who was
kind enough to accommodate it in our
itinerary. It was simply awesome and
fabulous. One needs to visit it to
know why it is so thrilling and
marvelous. We experienced the
unexpected and encountered the
unthinkable. Words are insufficient
to express the memories we will
treasure of this unique visit.
Can you imagine that we
were even able to visit the mentally
challenged children, interact with
them, watch and enjoy their dances
to the Hindi film songs and be a
part of it, some of us for the first
time with such children?
Our coordinator made it
double sure that we were dead tired
by the end of the day. But our cosy
rooms and comfortable beds were a
warm welcome at the end of the day
to give us an undisturbed and sound
sleep the whole night.
Every beginning has an
end. So too our never forgettable,
the best ever tour had its end too
on the 17th. It ended
with mixed feeling-some wanted at
least 2 days more, some wanted to
return to their sweet homes with
shopping bags full and loads of
experiences. Yes! We found ourselves
in Goa on the 17th at
4.30 pm with treasurable,
pleasureable and unforgettable
memories, vast experiences and
exposure to various fields of
education.
