COSMETOLOGY COURSE

Carmel College for Women – Chemistry department successfully organized its annual short term add-on certificate course in Cosmetology. The course commenced on 16 th August 2011 and ended on 21 st Sept 2011. The above programme which was designed to create awareness on grooming standards, personal hygiene and beauty care had a tremendous response for which 37 students registered and completed the course. The course was conducted in association with professionals from ‘Personal Touch' Beauty salon and Academy, Panaji.

The course module covered a wide range of topics. The course helped to build up confidence level of our students and motivated them to feel good, look good and walk tall and smart in society. Practicals for the trainees were held within the college premises and some at the parlour of the instructor. Each participant was evaluated by answering a test at the end of the course. The Valedictory function on the 21 st Sept. 2011 was graced by the Principal Dr. Sr. Aradhana A.C. The Course Coordinator Ms. Cheryl Alvares presented the report. Each participant was awarded a certificate at the hands of the principal. The entire programme was organized by the Dept. of Chemistry. The feedback given by the participants spoke highly of the success of the course and the course instructor Ms. Tessie Colaco was highly appreciated for the expertise and skills acquired by the participants. It was suggested unanimously that this course be conducted every year to benefit our students.
